The first club in South East Asia of Club Med is located in Cherating at the South China Sea. And because it's the first, they got the best spot, although the whole region has fine sandy beach.
Surfers' Haven – that has long been the description of old Cherating Village since the 70's. Each year, surfers from around the world return to Cherating to test out the surf and catch up with local acquaintances. Each year, surfers from all over the world return to Cherating, friends worlds apart make their rendezvous in this understated hamlet to let the South China Sea waves pump adrenaline into their system.
This hidden enclave along the famed stretch of beach lining the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Cherating beach is immaculate and breath-taking. So much so that Club Med decided to build it's first Asian base right here in Cherating. And surfers take the opportunity to have local friends take them through some of the most charming rural villages along the coast and drink in the gorgeous scenery along the way. Getting There By Bus
Catch a bus marked Kemaman from the bus terminal at Kuantan. This every half hour bus costs only RM1.50 while the journey takes about one hour.

Turtle Laying Eggs - Turtles come to the East Coast of Malaysia to lay eggs...I happen to catch one laying eggs when I visited in July... If you want to see turtles, just inform the hotel of your interest and they can arrange it for you...Usually, hotels have contact with the Turtle Sanctuary, who will call them once they have sighted any turtles coming... A fee of RM5 will be imposed when you go watch the turtles lay eggs.

Wind Surfing April - July could be the season for windsurfing...or different...cause when i were there is May...there is people learning windsurfing...U can check it at Payung Guest House.

Beach walk -
 As usual, everyone will do...BEACH WALK...u can relaxing walk along the beach, feel the wind blowing, wave hitting the sand, baby crabs running back to home for hiding, see children playing, family gathering, maybe can collect some beautiful shell.

Beach Volleyball - One of the common activity at Cherating Beach...Everyday before sunset, u will see along the Cherating beach are fill with people, local or tourist, but i is sure there are number of team playing beach volleyball...most are local...they are great player...my friend did joined them...really fun...

Kayaking [Canoeing] - I didn't try it...I saw it...they actually kayak to the sea...exciting! batik If you are bored with sun, beach and turtles, why dont you try out batik class. There are a few places offer batik class. Culture complex and Rambo Art (If i am not mistaken) do offer batik classes for visitors. Cultural complex will charge higher than the others. The class fee is around rm18. you need to spend a few hours to complete your masterpiece and you need to do from A to Z.

Ride the horse - In the evening, you can ride horse by hiring it for RM100 per hour. Or if you don't know how to ride horse, you can ride it around the beach for only RM10 per ride (about 10 minutes). The horse keeper will accompany you along the ride. Pahang
