Tempurung Cave |

| Introduction Gua Tempurung, stretching over 1.3km, is believed to have been in existence since 8000 BC. The cave is probably the largest natural limestone cave in Malaysia. Located in the vicinity of Gopeng, 24km south of Ipoh, the cave is approximately 1.5km long. Made up of five huge domes which ceilings resemble coconut shells, each dome has different formations of stalagmites and stalactites. The domes also differ from one another in terms of temperature, water level, content of limestone and marble. Site activities For the more adventurous ones, the longer excursions will definitely satisfy their curiosity. The tours normally take 2 to 3 1/2 hours through the underground river and come out on the other side of the cave. You will be able to see various stalactite and stalagmite formations, many of which are still growing.
